NORTHBROOK, Ill., July 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Astellas today announced two senior-level changes in its US Commercial organization. David Musselman has been promoted to area vice president, sales, Primary Care and Specialty – East. Lynn Gerber has been named area vice president, sales, Primary Care and Specialty – West. They will be responsible for leading the company's primary care and specialty sales teams.
"These changes will further support our efforts to ensure we're providing valuable therapies to patients who need them," said Steve Sabus, vice president, sales, Primary Care/Specialty and Hospital at Astellas. "Both David and Lynn's demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performance teams will build on the important relationships and communication that we've established with our customers and accounts in key US geographies."
Musselman has nearly 20 years of pharmaceutical sales experience. Most recently, he served as director, Regional Accounts East at Astellas where he led a team of regional account managers responsible for products in the company's oncology, urology, transplant and antifungal franchises. Musselman joined Astellas in 2007 as a regional sales manager in Georgia, later serving as area sales director for the Southeast United States. He began his career at Pfizer in various sales roles, including district manager.
Musselman received his bachelor's degree in finance and management from the Honors' College at the University of South Carolina and his Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University. He will be based in South Carolina leading a team of five sales directors and reporting to Steve Sabus.
Gerber began her career at Astellas in 2003 and has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Prior to her new role, she served as area vice president, sales, Primary Care and Specialty – East, a role now held by Musselman. Before joining Astellas, Geber served in sales, marketing and operations roles of increasing responsibility at GSK.
Gerber received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from East Carolina University, a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology from Syracuse University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) and was named an HBA Luminary Award winner in 2015 for her commitment to coaching and development. Gerber will be based in Illinois leading a team of five sales directors and continuing to report to Steve Sabus.
