NORTHBROOK, Ill., Aug. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyler Marciniak, corporate affairs director and head of product communications for Astellas Americas, has been named to PRWeek's 2016 "40 Under 40" List. The list honors 40 professionals under age 40 who are redefining the role of communications, public relations and marketing across top organizations in their fields.
Marciniak is an established marketing communications professional with corporate and agency experience who has made significant contributions since joining Astellas in 2014. Initially directing oncology communications and advocacy for the company, he currently leads a team focused on product communications for the entire US business and provides communications guidance for the rest of the Americas.
"Tyler's work has been instrumental in Astellas' efforts to advance our corporate reputation and more effectively engage key stakeholders," said Jeff Winton, senior vice president, Corporate Affairs and chief communications officer at Astellas Americas. "We couldn't be happier to have Tyler as part of the team, and this recognition is a testament to his commitment to excellence, creativity and leadership."
Marciniak was specifically recognized by PRWeek for his achievements in elevating awareness of Astellas' corporate commitment to the field of oncology. Beginning in 2014, he established relationships and began collaborating with USA Rugby, the Australia Rugby Union, the New Zealand All Blacks and leading patient advocacy organizations to execute #pass4prostate, a global health education initiative using rugby as a platform to advance awareness of men's health issues.
Over the program's two years, it achieved more than 250 million traditional and 19 million social media impressions. This combined with broadcast, in-game and on-site activations increased awareness of the Astellas corporate brand by 30 percent and increased awareness of the company's commitment to prostate cancer amongst key stakeholders by 60 percent. For his work on this initiative, Astellas recognized Marciniak with one of its highest honors, the "One Astellas" award for patient focus.
Marciniak exhibits a strong commitment to stretching his boundaries in both his professional and personal lives. A licensed pilot with degrees from Columbia University and Drake University, he is currently pursuing a Master's of Business Administration degree at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Marciniak lives in Lake Forest, Ill. with his wife and three daughters.
