NORTHBROOK, Ill., Monday, April 10, 2017 – Margaret Long, vice president, Business Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, has been named to the 2017 MM&M Hall of Femme. In her role, Long and her team have made a significant impact on marketing and communications.
“I am truly honored and humbled to be included in this year’s Hall of Femme class alongside women who have made a significant impact in their industries,” said Long. “I’m so proud to help support Astellas’ commitment to turning innovative science into solutions that bring value and hope to patients and their families.”
From the launch of the Stop Stalling campaign to raise awareness of the impact of overactive bladder, to launching the C3 Prize to identify new, non-treatment innovations where there is greatest patient need, Long and her team have had a significant impact on the visibility of Astellas Urology and Oncology. Long’s team also introduced a new patient advocacy portal, Change Together, which addresses key issues including healthcare decision making and best practices for patient advocacy organizations.
Long has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including various roles at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Astellas. Throughout her career, she has also been an advocate for the advancement of career opportunities for women through the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association, New York Health Products Council, Governor Pataki’s Advisory Council on Women and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
The MM&M Hall of Femme honors 16 of the most-senior female leaders throughout the biopharma, medical device, diagnostic, and agency sectors of the healthcare industry who have made a significant impact in marketing and communications this past year. Accomplished and results-driven, these women have reached across silos and led teams to maximize value for their organizations.
