Deerfield, IL (December 7, 2009) – Astellas Pharma US, Inc. was inducted into the National Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program’s (MOTTEP®) 2009 National Minority Transplant Hall of Fame as the recipient of the Corporate Award. The Hall of Fame honors individuals and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication in minority organ and tissue transplantation. The Award was presented to Astellas, a leader in the transplant field for more than 20 years, on November 14th during MOTTEP’s 2009 Gala Fundraiser event.
"We are honored to present the Corporate Award to Astellas for its ongoing support of transplant education initiatives and outreach to ethnic minorities and communities-atlarge. The Award also recognizes Astellas’ Transplant Experience program, which provides information and support to ensure that transplant patients lead an optimal quality of life," said Patrice Miles, Executive Director of MOTTEP.
