Forty Astellas employees from Astellas US Technologies (AUST) took a day to volunteer at the Clearbrook Funfest in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. AUST employees represented Supply Chain, Product Security, Project and Product Management and Quality Assurance Americas.
With more than 50 locations across Chicagoland, Clearbrook is a leader in creating innovative opportunities, services and support for people with disabilities. The Funfest is a yearly event that encourages the community to come together for a fun day for approximately 500 Clearbrook clients and their families.
“It was a tremendous opportunity to support an organization with a very important mission and to positively impact the lives of many Clearbrook clients,” said John DeMay, president, AUST. “I appreciate everyone from AUST who contributed to making the day a huge success.”
The team supported the event by being buddies to Clearbrook clients, running games, doing Zumba, performing “spa” services, such as nail polish application and serving lunch.
“It was a beautiful day spent with great colleagues, clients and an organization that is clearly making an impact for so many,” Angie Biernacki, associate director, Quality Assurance Americas.
