Astellas Recognized as a Top Company for Executive Women

Astellas was recognized in Seramount’s 2021 Top 75 Companies for Executive Women list.

Seramount announced its annual list of the 2021 Top 75 Companies for Executive Women and has included Astellas for the first time. The Top Companies for Executive Women list evaluates companies on every aspect of women’s advancement, including succession planning, profit-and-loss roles, gender pay parity, support programs and work-life balance programs. Its examination of policies, programs and leadership demographics of participating companies yields the most definitive list of top workplaces for women who want to advance to the most senior levels.

“We are proud to be recognized as a Top Company for Executive Women,” said La Toya McClellan, senior director, Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion. “Currently, 45% of our company’s executive roles (senior director and above) in the US region are held by women. Being on this list demonstrates that our programs are making progress in providing women with the opportunities they need to grow, be successful, and contribute value at Astellas.”

Astellas empowers women’s advancement through various programs, development opportunities, and benefits including caregiving support to help working parents and elderly care of aging parents allowing our employees to thrive in the workplace.

Our Stellar Women Employee Impact Group (SWEIG) of more than 900 members meets, discusses and implements ideas to help create an environment of empowerment and advocacy to advance and inspire women at Astellas.

Examples of SWEIG programs include:

  • Creating a vibrant community of women that support and mentor each other to advance learning and development of female colleagues
  • Sharing member experiences as patients & caregivers to ensure the female voice is heard and understood throughout medicines development

Our comprehensive StarLife benefits program offers employees flexibility in how and where employees do their work, robust leave programs to support growing families, and a full spectrum of caregiving support for employees and their extended families. Additional programs to support flexible scheduling include half day Fridays year-round and volunteer time off.
