Astellas Expands Paid Military Leave Policy in Wake of COVID-19 | April 21, 2020

Astellas proudly supports our employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserves, and has expanded our paid military policy in response to the COVID-19 relief efforts. Based on a review of our employees’ needs, Veterans will now receive four weeks’ paid leave to fulfill their military training obligations, an increase of two additional weeks. Astellas also will continue its commitment to service members who have been mobilized/called to active duty by reconciling any difference in compensation between their military pay and regular pay for up to two years. In addition, we will honor these active duty first responder and military employee volunteers with a brick in the Heroes’ Garden of our Northbrook, Ill., headquarters.

Some of the additional offerings Astellas provides include:

  • Support for employee family members impacted by mobilizations or deployments;
  • Annual Hero Miles drive, which provides employees a chance to donate their frequent flier miles and hotel points to military members and their families;
  • Support of Fisher House, a residential program offering lodging for families of injured service members while they’re hospitalized or receiving treatment;
  • Sponsorship of the adaptive sports competition the Warrior Games

We are #InThisTogether, and Astellas stands with our military and Veterans.
