Eight employees from Medical & Development, Corporate Affairs and Commercial Operations volunteered to help the Northfield Township Food Pantry organize its weekly shipment of food delivered by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. 

“Working together to help people in need is a great way to embody One Astellas and give back to the community,” said Elaine Holmquist, senior executive assistant, Corporate Affairs. “By using our collective strengths, we were able to help the food bank organize its shipment of food in 90 minutes when the process would have normally taken several weeks.”

The Northfield Township Food Pantry provides food to local residents who are unable to provide enough food for themselves and their families.

“It is volunteers, like the employees from Astellas, who make it possible for us to help so many families in our community,” said Gayle M. Curcio, community coordinator, Northfield Township Food Pantry. “We appreciate their time and talents in collaborating with us.”
