Personal Stories about Astellas Highlight Unique Corporate Culture

Astellas is about to launch an employee engagement initiative featuring a series of videos of employees sharing their stories with a live audience. Each story highlights one or more of the five “Astellas Way” behaviors – Patient Focus, Ownership, Results, Openness and Integrity – that comprise the company’s culture.
“We create our unique culture through all that each of us brings to our company,” said Collette Taylor, senior vice president, Human Resources. “Each of our stories – personal, and professional – help define what’s special about working at Astellas.”
Employees can watch their colleagues’ videos on the Astellas intranet beginning May 15 and continuing over consecutive Tuesdays. Employees also have the option to participate in lunchtime screenings in the Astellas Headquarters for the Americas in Northbrook, Illinois cafeteria.
Nearly 200 Astellas Americas employees from across all organizations located in the United States, Canada, Brazil and Colombia submitted their stories for consideration in the initiative. The Astellas Culture Steering Committee selected colleagues to receive special presentation training that enabled each person to share their story in a compelling way. The storytellers describe the impact that the Astellas culture has had on them, personally or professionally; how working at Astellas inspires them to make a difference in the lives of others, including our communities and patients; how their personal experience as a patient or caregiver influences their life or work; and/or the unique, creative culture and fun spirit of Astellas employees.
