Vice President, Corporate Development
Yoko Saiki is vice president, corporate development, at Astellas. In this role, Saiki is responsible for overseeing a team focused on corporate strategy and planning, commercial strategy, initiative management and delivery (IMD), regional alliance management and licensing. In 2015, she launched the company’s regional mid-term plan in accordance with Astellas’ global vision to all Americas employees. She also launched IMD, which is an in-house project management office, and regional licensing strategy. Saiki serves as a secretariat for the Astellas US management committee.
Saiki joined Astellas in 2009 as senior manager, corporate planning, leading initiatives centered on implementing projects to improve business, human resources and organizational strategies. In 2015, she was named executive director, corporate strategy, planning and strategic initiative management, where she was responsible for building and executing the Americas Regional Strategy, and for the implementation of corporate governance.
Prior to joining Astellas, Saiki served as senior project manager for Arysta Life Science Corporation in Japan, responsible for leading various projects, including creation of new, innovative business opportunities in Asia and product acquisition. Previously, she was on the sales and marketing team at a Tomen Corporation in Japan.
Saiki holds a bachelor’s in agricultural chemistry from the University of Tokyo.
